Rollaway beds commonly come in Twin or Twin XL sizes. Even though “twin” implies 2 people, this size is more like a Twin bed that accommodates only 1 person. Rollaway beds in Queen size are hard to come by as most manufacturers don’t make them. However, that’s what you would need to comfortably sleep 2 people. 

I don’t have room for a rollaway bed (or it’s too cumbersome for me), so are there any other options?

If there is no space in your home for a rollaway bed, or it’s too bulky for you to use, there are a couple of other options. A trundle bed might work well if it’s okay with you and/or your guest to sleep in the same room. A trundle bed is stored under the main bed and simply pulls out when needed. 

The mattress on the trundle bed is often slightly thinner than a standard mattress, but it’s certainly comfortable enough for most sleepers.  

You can also consider getting a futon if a trundle bed won’t work for you.
